Jobs

Craig believes in creating more jobs and stimulating the economy so that all Tennesseans succeed.

  • Continues to support the efforts of Governor Phil Bredesen and Economic & Community Development Commissioner Matt Kisber to encourage more companies to call Tennessee home like Nissan, Volkswagen and Dell
  • As Chairman of Finance, will work to make sure a balanced budget is passed with no new taxes on any Tennesseans

Education

Craig believes in expanding educational opportunities for more of Tennessee's children.

  • Believes we must continue to fully fund both Pre-K and K-12 schooling
  • Supports expanding Tennessee's HOPE Scholarship to more Tennesseans
  • Supports the Obama Stimulus Plan that will:
    • Provide funding sufficient to modernize at least 176 schools in Tennessee
    • Make 87,000 families eligible for a new American Opportunity Tax Credit. By creating a new $2,500 partially refundable tax credit for four years of college, this plan will give these families a new assistance to put college within their reach.

Healthcare

Craig believes in investing in our healthcare system to help create an affordable healthcare system.

  • Encourages the expansion of the Long-Term Care Community Choices Act in order to give more seniors the opportunity to stay in their homes during their golden years
  • Believes that healthcare cost for small and large businesses must be reduced in order to strengthen the long-term health of America's economy

Values

As a father, veteran and community leader, Craig knows what it takes to keep families safe.

  • Supports the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution
  • Supports the banning of abortions except in extreme cases (rape, incest and life of the mother)
  • Supports religious liberty and tolerance in our schools
  • Supports more funding and benefits for our troops returning home from war.
  • Supports stricter laws against sex-offenders and drug dealers.
